Phase 2 of Social Distancing

We left the Ten Thousand Islands to come home for a few set appointments and restrictions were still in place so we decided to head out again for a week or so before things get too busy in our business

We brought our 6 year old grandson Jax, along with us for the first night and he just loves being on board with us, steering the boat, doing arts and crafts, cooking and just making it extra fun for him is such a pleasure for us. Our other 2 little ones are stuck at home social distancing so it’s been a while since they’ve been on board with us.

Jax wanted sushi for dinner on Wednesday night so he and Glumpy set the table up on the helm and we enjoyed a spectacular sunset with him as we ate. Mid morning, the three of us went to the beach for a swim and we had a sandcastle building competition. We ate chips while we waited for Justine to pick him back up.

We made a light lunch with a glass of wine or two after returning to Happy Wife which led to a little afternoon nap up on the helm with a lovely light breeze blowing. We dressed for dinner after sun downers and took the dinghy to shore at Bell Bravo which was lovely. On Friday we set sail for Gulfport with dolphins following as on most times when we venture out. We spent two nights, mostly on board, but with a couple of walks each day with the doggies and lunch and drinks on one lazy afternoon at The Tiki Bar and Grill. On Sunday we headed out at noon for Fantasy Island. Of course being the day before Memorial Day, our usually quiet anchorage was jam packed with party goers in small boats and a couple of vessels anchored out. The vibe was great though and we enjoyed watching all the goings on over pizza and beer. Memorial Monday was overcast so a few boats and kids on jet skis came out when the same came out for a bit.

On Tuesday morning early we headed back to Westshore now that things were slowly beginning to reopen again. Most importantly though, I had a hair appointment to get rid of the grey badger that seemed to have the top of my head its home! lol As always, we love any time out on our Happy Wife. I usually don’t mind how short or long our trips are, but being out at one with nature makes the world a happy place for me. We remain grateful!
